The cost is an estimate. It depends on the prices you entered and how you drive. Prices change; the last update date is shown under each price.
How it is calculated
- Electricity per month = distance × use per 100 km ÷ 100 × price per kWh.
- Petrol per month = distance × litres per 100 km ÷ 100 × price per litre.
- Per year = per month × 12, and the saving = petrol cost − electricity cost.

Questions people ask
Where do the petrol prices come from?
The UAE Fuel Price Committee, chaired by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, announces petrol and diesel prices every month.
Why is the electricity price an estimate?
Home electricity is charged in tiers (the price changes with use) and differs between emirates, so the calculator uses one price that you can change.
How do I know my car's use?
From the car's specifications or its trip screen: kWh per 100 km for an EV, litres per 100 km for petrol.
Is public charging the same price as charging at home?
No, public charging has its own price. Choose where you mostly charge, or type the price you pay.
